Integrated Holistic Rehabilitation

Our philosophy is that of an integrated holistic rehabilitation. We don't believe it is enough to just be pain free and moving well. We want you back to full function so you can get out there and enjoy life fully! Because we have worked in elite sport we know the value of full rehabilitation.

Our team of physios and exercise physiologist communicate daily to design the appropriate rehab program for you. The physio will guide you through the early stages then likely pass you to the exercise physiologist to further develop strength or fitness capabilities.

We attempt to uncover every risk factor. There will be subtle activities of daily living that may propagate myofascial compression and maintain pain. We pride ourselves on getting to the root of any problem.

Injuries occur when the body was 100%, so that is the absolute minimum level we want anybody returning to activity

POST-SURGERY

Shoulder Reconstruction Rehabilitation

Shoulder injuries are an increasing concern for clinicians across all contact sports. With most sports showing increasing incidence, severity and recurrence rates. This means more shoulder reconstructions.

With our Sports Physiotherapists having worked with Super Rugby players, shoulder reconstructions are one of the most common post season operations. We fully understand the process involved and biological factors to achieve a great outcome.

With our six month return to play program, no stone is left unturned to not only get full mobility, but make sure the strength and proprioception are at pre injury levels.

Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Rehabilitation

Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Rehabilitation is a complex process. Because our team has been in elite sport for many years we have had exposure to many ACL reconstructions. Every knee has its own rehab time-frame and we understand the bodies different responses to exercise stimuli.

Carefully constructing the rehab plans for an ACL is paramount to successful return to sport and a functional kinetic chain. We understand the pain, loss of function, negotiating stairs and rolling in bed and how these can be a challenge in the early stages.

Our rehab gym is specifically set up to be on one level, having all the equipment necessary for your rehabilitation

For centuries, Finnish people have been jumping from the hot sauna to the frozen lakes

Bathing in heat and cold can provide cleansing through toxin clearance, purification and has healing properties for ancient cultures and can be used today in the modern world.

INFRARED SAUNA

Exposing the body to mild hyperthermia increases the core body temperature. This induces a complex array of thermoregulatory responses that are cytoprotective, provide longevity benefits, prevents cognitive decline and forces cardiovascular efficiencies. Physiological responses include neuroendocrine protective mechanisms that help to restore homeostasis but also condition the body for future heat stress. Hence the heat resilience effects.

COMPRESSION THERAPY

Compression therapy has also been shown to be effective in relieving body soreness from jet lag to post-workout soreness. It has also been shown that it can help improve sleep quality by and promotes relaxation. While compression therapy is most commonly used to treat injuries, it may also be beneficial for other conditions such as chronic pain, arthritis, and fibromyalgia.

Prior to COVID, Chris would periodically travel the world presenting Rehab Trainer courses to Personal Trainers and Exercise Professionals focusing on Singapore, Dubai, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Myanmar. Chris also consults to a medical clinic in Yangon (Myanmar) and he hopes to return to these locations and others once international travel is allowed.

Chris is still actively involved in Rugby Union with the Noosa Dolphins Rugby Club where he attempts in vain to show up the colts players in fitness drills. When not at work he can be found in the gym, on the beach, in a coffee shop, in a wine bar or running up a hill somewhere.
